Friends of Edgars Creek

Untitled-2

Hi All,
Well we are finally going to go planting with no masks!
This Sunday April 10th FoEC will be working in the Darebin City Council area. The site is immediately south of the Henty street crossing of Edgars Creek, east bank of the creek on lovely flat parkland!
The weather is looking like a cracking autumn day with warmth forecast (26 degrees and showers later in the day - I really hope so as this would be a great way for the plants to settle in).
As per our usual arrangements, the planting is formally from 1-3PM though we are always on site earlier than this and normally hanging around to pack up for a while after 3PM. If you want to join early please reach out so we can ensure we are on site to meet with you and have some tasks ready to go!
Given the forecast, go full sun-smart! Sunscreen, hats, heaps of water and please bring your own food.
See you on the creek!
David
President FoEC.

Chickens for Adoption

Untitled-2

We have to go away for three months and unfortunately need to leave our lovely chickens behind. If you're interested in chickens but still not 100% confident, this is the right deal for you. If you're unhappy with them after three months, we'll gladly take them back. They're much-loved birds.
One is an Isa Brown and the other is an Auracana/Orpington mix. Both are regular layers offering about 10 eggs a week.
We would like to leave them with an animal lover and with plenty of space. They only go into a run/coop at night, so they're used to having the entire yard to play in. Call me or email if you have any questions.

Working Bee at Coburg Lake this Wednesday

Untitled-2

Happy Autumn,

Just a reminder that Zoe will be leading a 1-hour working bee (weeding and mulching) at Coburg Lake this Wednesday, 6th of April from 9.30 – 10.30 am. Meet at the Rocky Outcrop at Coburg Lake. This site is on the north side of the lake,  just down from De Chene Pde, Coburg North, and between the toilets and the flying fox playground. Turn up if you are keen and please bring gloves and cardboard or newspapers if you have them. This working bee happens on the first Wednesday of every month from 9.30 – 10.30 am.

Also, don’t forget, Ian leads a working bee at the eastern end of Ida Street, Coburg North (Grevillea Corner), every Friday from 9.30 – 11.30 am. Again, turn up if you are keen and please bring gloves.

Lastly, thanks to all of you who voted for the Merri Creek Trail: Seating Installation Blitz, fingers crossed that this project will get funded,

Cheers,

Emma
