No Northern Incinerator
Community Gathering to find out about the Incinerator Plans for Melbourne's North
There are plans to build a huge garbage Incinerator in Wollert - Just 16km away from Newlands. It is to burn 380,000 tonnes of industrial and residential garbage. Not far from the Merri Creek and only 15km from Yan Yean Reservoir, our drinking water source.
This is shocking and will affect us over time if it goes ahead. These incinerators are banned from the whole of Sydney and Canberra and yet they want to build one here.

Euca Cleaning Powder For Sale
We have some Euca laundry powder and dishwashing powder left over from a bulk co-op order.

There are a couple of kgs of laundry powder for $7.70 per kg.
There is quite a bit of dishwashing powder for $8.90 per kg.
Pick-up will be from a porch in North Coburg and payments done via bank transfer.

We are interested in house sitting in Newlands area and surrounds, &/or a share-house with another family or family friendly people/co-housing, &/or sharing a property with more than one independent dwelling.
We are a nurse-educator/actor/dancer and a musician/somatic therapist/facilitator. We are currently wanting to live part-time in the Macedon Ranges and part-time in Merri-Bek/Darebin - we aren’t sure if we will continue doing this 50/50 thing or land in one spot later down the track.

I have some off-white wall tiles - mostly broken (good for mosaics) but some full tiles (30x30). Not a large amount. If you want some text me on 0434 266 303.

FoEC Meeting
Hello FoEC'ers and Friends,
This message is to advise that there will be a Special General Meeting of FoEC on Sunday, April 14th at 10.00AM at the Kodak Bridge (Spectrum Way, Coburg North).
The business of this meeting relates to the recent news we have received that we are no longer insured under our existing insurance arrangements via our Friends of Merri Creek membership and recognition as a subgroup.
We will discuss the options that are open to FoEC to move forward with activities along the Edgars Creek Corridor for 2024 and beyond.
We need a quorum of at least 5 signed up members for the meeting to proceed so if you can make it, we'd love to see you and hear your thoughts on the future of FoEC.
