Everyone agrees: every child deserves the best start in life Australia can offer, and education is the key to unlocking their potential. A child’s development at age three as just as important as age six - so we must value every stage of their education equally. As educators we help shape the future chances and choices of every child we educate. Yet early childhood educators are paid 33% less than those teaching and caring for children only a few years older, making us some of the lowest paid professionals in Australia. A responsible government that values every child would already have fixed this injustice by funding wages reflective of our essential role, and that’s what we are campaigning for.
