Celebrate the Flowers of the Murnong Patch

Untitled-2

Newlanders be proud!

There is nowhere that I know of but at the Murnong Patch (opposite 103 Connolly Avenue)where people can see native lilies and many other wildflowers (Murnongs included of course) from the shared Merri trail. So come for a wonder but also for an opportunity to give back. This time of the year, some of the few weedy grasses we still have like these below are now flowering, making them dead easy to recognise as well as deadly important to remove There will be another weeding activity with the Friends of Merri Creek on Sunday the 22nd from 10 am to 12 pm but the weedy grasses flowering now need to go now so that they do not drop their seeds.

This Saturday 7th October 1-3 pm.
