Study on economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The University of Melbourne is looking for participants for a study on the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on households. The study considers the income, saving and spending decisions of households through the pandemic period in order to develop a better understanding of financial vulnerabilities, financial stress and coping mechanisms amongst households. This research will make an important contribution to debates about what the most pressing economic vulnerabilities of households are and how policy can address those vulnerabilities in order to better protect Australian households from economic insecurity.
The study is seeking respondents who are willing to undertake a fortnightly phone interview about their household’s income and expenditure throughout the pandemic period. Interviews are entirely confidential, participation is voluntary and participants may withdraw from the study at any point. Participants will be reimbursed for their time with a $30 gift card at the conclusion of each interview.
If you are interested in participating or know someone who might be, please contact lead researcher Antonia Settle on 0449 960 026 (call or text) or at antonia.settle@unimelb.edu.au
