Regretful sale of my beloved YUBA bike. 

My kids are too big now and it has been stored under cover for the last two years. 

Comes with a heap of extras including front basket, heavy duty swing stand, loop handle for passenger, padded seat, foot boards, foot pegs, back seat board and wheel skirts. (Around $960 worth if extras).

The foot boards could do with a sand and re varnish.

This is not the electric version of the bike but can be upgraded to electric if desired.

Will need a service as it hasn't been ridden for two years.

We are a family of three looking for accomodation from mid-December 2024 until August/September 2025 in the Newlands/Preston/Coburg area. Our lease is ending and the family who own the lovely house we’re in are moving home, while the townhouse we have put a deposit on isn’t quite finished. We’re looking for 2 bedrooms or more, we’re happy to take over a lease and move in with our furniture, or house-sit and put our things in storage. We’re quiet and responsible and come with excellent references. Our daughter attends Newlands Primary School so we’d love something within walking distance, if possible.

Hello Folks,

The third Sunday of September is almost here and that means that the Friends of Merri Creek @ Edgars Creek is planting this Sunday.

As per our calendar of events:

Sunday 15 September 2024, 1:00pm - 3.00pm (“Christmas Party”) 

Planting: Shrub and grassland extension along the M9 easement area (west side of the creek). Hosted by the FoMC @ Edgars Creek, Funded by the FoMC @ Edgars Creek.

Meet at the west end of the Ronald Street footbridge, Ronald Street, North Coburg.  

We hope to see you on the Creek this Sunday as we undertake the last planting activity of the year - maintenance events to follow in October and November.

This is traditionally our Christmas in September so please bring along some beverages and food for yourself and join us in a celebration of doing great work on Edgars Creek.

As usual, Ben and I will be on the creek a bit earlier than the designated time of 1PM so please contact to let me know if earlier is better for you.

Supporting Palestinians

Hi all.  

Here's a fundraiser to pay Palestinians to pick olives for the upcoming harvest.

The man who owns the farm has a big dream for sustainable food for Palestinian families (you can read more in the link). He would usually have volunteers to pick the olives, but there are no volunteers there now. The harvest needs to be picked at the right time and the locals need the money.

I have a free Singer sewing machine Model 1007 to give away. It’s an easy machine to use and sews very well, although the bobbin winder mechanism no longer functions. Maybe someone with the skills could get it winding those bobbins again.
