Art Exhibition & Fundraiser – Newlands Neighbourhood House

Join us for an evening of art, food, and community in support of Gaza.

🖼️ Artwork Exhibition & Silent Auction
Artwork will be displayed at Newlands Neighbourhood House, with a silent auction running from today through to Thursday 21 November, 9am–4pm (Mon–Fri).

🌟 Main Event: Friday 21 November from 4pm
Enjoy an inspiring night of local art, delicious food, and meaningful connection.

Event Schedule:

4:00pm – View the artwork and place your bids
5:00–7:00pm – Food available to purchase from Aheda’s Kitchen, featuring traditional Palestinian flavours
6:45pm – Silent auction bids close
7:00pm – Acknowledgment of Country, followed by the live auction of selected pieces and announcement of silent auction winners

MOMA’s Not-a-Cupboard Project — Evolving into Something New!

You may have seen MOMA’s Not-a-Cupboard installation in the hallway gallery at Newlands NECCHI. Over the past year, community members have contributed to this evolving artwork during its Studio Phase, creating dozens of small, imaginative pieces. Now, that humble piece of furniture is about to be transformed into a sculptural form — a miniature gallery within the Museum of Moving Arts!

🧺 Friday Morning All Ages Play Groups — Help Finish the Artworks!
Join us for a few creative and social mornings at Newlands Neighbourhood House to help bring this collaborative artwork to life.

All ages and abilities are welcome — come for a chat, a cuppa, and some hands-on art-making as we prepare for the Bags, Books & Boxes exhibition.

We’re celebrating the grand unveiling of the finished Sculptural Not-a-Cupboard with a lively community event — Little Big Gig!
