As someone who reacts poorly to all kinds of preservatives and additives, I started seeking out natural products back when I was living in my good old stomping ground of Fitzroy. Moved out to the steep, green hills of Dollar and it became more difficult to source such products. Yep, I made lots of curry pastes and stored them, that's an awesome thing to do, but as children were born and farm businesses were developing, I needed to handball a few things. These freshly-made, needing-to-be refrigerated-they're-so-fresh curry pastes, nothing-added but the obvious, are ah-mazing. Welcome to the Collective, Curry Favour! Wow, it is all happening!

This weekend as part of the Sustainable Living Festival we are launching the Victorian Forest Alliance in Northcote. Community groups from across the state including Newlands Friends of the Forest have come together to form the Victorian Forest Alliance and we are very excited about the launch this weekend. Everyone is invited! 

The Victorian Forest Alliance Art Auction, raising funds to protect gorgeous greater gliders through court cases - is an online Auction with fabulous works! Necchi is thinking about RATs, Cubbys and Snail Mail 🐌  Ha! Hope that got everyones attention. Just a quick update from us 😊 Tomorrow we are building a cubby (just like the one above) out of completely sustainable bamboo! Giant Grass will be leading this amazing build - this Saturday from 10-2pm at Newlands Neighbourhood House. You can book to join us here.  You might have noticed we've been trying to save some trees, and we've cut back on printing our hard copy program. BUT we can always send one out to you if you'd like one! Just send us your address and we can post it out to you by good ol' fashioned snail mail.  Finally - suss out some great upcoming programs below, and see the full list of events, workshops and activities here. Ciao for now!  The good kind! We've been delivered a shipment of free Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to distribute to community. There will be stock at both houses (Newlands & East Coburg) for you to come and collect from. There is a 1 per person limit in order to make things nice and fair, and that's about it! NECCHi houses are open Tues-Fri from 10-4pm, so swing by & say hello. We'll keep you updated about stock levels via socials, and once they're gone they're gone! 😊 This weekly group supports beginner singers to learn about the voice, build confidence and sing with other people. Group leader Meg can support you to join a local choir that suits your interests and needs when you feel ready. Sing Out is an inclusive space for all singers to have fun, explore the voice, be in your body and enjoy singing! Wednesdays 6-7pm @ Newlands Term Pass $100/$15 casual BOOK NOW Over the course of this 4 hour session, local artist and screen printer Danni McGrath will take you through the process of screen printing using found objects! You'll learn how to make and use your own screen printing equipment that you can take home with you.
